Appia La Fayette Hotel

Great location midway between Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est. Front desk staff are incredibly charming and accommodating, speaking elegant French and really making guests feel welcome. Room we got was similarly high-class. Only negative was the breakfast, which featured items that seemed to have been on offer from the day before (e.g., sliced meats). Bread also a little stale, which is close to a criminal offense in France. But I would return, especially if the breakfast could get a slight upgrade.

Close and walkable to the Gare de Nord train station and the 4/5 & 7 Metro and Gare d' Este if you can deal with stairs. Staff is friendly, not overly. Room #305 right next to the lift is on the smaller size with a desk and window that opens to the Rue. Bathroom is a good size with hot water and good pressure- shower only no tub. There is a heated towel rack that warms towels quite nicely and holds heat in the bathroom if you keep the door closed. The bed (double or queen) was actually very comfortable once we find the extra pillows. We had breakfast included which is always a nice perk. The spread on a scale of 1 to 5 I'd give a 3. Smaller selections of the basics but the coffee machine is amazing. They also have a drinking water dispenser always accessible.

A cute and everything-one-needs hotel in a well convenient spot in an interesting (but safe and comfortable!) neighborhood. The hotel is walking distance (+/- 5 min.) From both Gare Du Nord and Gare De L'est. Rooms aren't huge, but sure offer enough space. Same goes for the bathrooms which are fitted with a spacious toilet and rainshower. Rooms are cleaned (well!!) everyday and extra pillows are in the closet ready to be used. Free safe and more than enough power sockets are offered. Only point of improvement would be the air-conditioning, which isn't working when outside temps are below 25°C, didn't ruin my stay though! :) Breakfast is in a buffet form with an unexpectedly large variety of options ranging from breads and pastries (including croissants, of course) to scrambled eggs. The kind lady upkeeping the buffet did so well and was lovely to her guests. I would definitely return here, and recommend anyone to stay here!
